24 The Sazerac and The Manhattan

In this episode, we look at the Sazerac and the Manhattan, both made with Bulleit Rye.

  • Sazerac
  • Peychaud Bitters
  • Absinthe
  • Sugar Cube
  • 2 Oz Rye Whiskey
  • Chill a rocks glass with ice water. In a mixing glass, combine 3-4 dashes of bitters and a sugar cube. Muddle then add whiskey and ice and stir. Discard the ice water in the rocks glass and coat the inside of the glass with Absinthe and discard the rest. Strain the whiskey in to the rocks glass, garnish with lemon peel and enjoy.
  • Manhattan
  • 1 Part Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 Part Rye Whiskey
  • Angostura Bitters
  • Combine the whiskey, sweet vermouth and a few dashes of bitters in a mixing glass. Add ice and stir. Strain the mixture into a chilled rocks glass, garnish with a cherry and enjoy.
